It is also the last week that Andrea and I will be at Silver Creek before we go on the call that God has given us to serve at a church in New Berlin, WI. We hope to connect with you this week and remember some great times, pray for each other, and say goodbye.

Wednesday- FCA starts in Forreston for HS students at 6:45 AM.

Thanks guys! Have a great week! Much love to you all!

SWIFT Update: A Super Sunday Ahead!

Hey everyone,

I am still riding high from seeing “To Save a Life” with everyone last night. It seemed as if everyone had a great time seeing this movie with their friends. Students told me that they were challenged, encouranged, and excited about the movie.  If you missed out on seeing it this weekend, or if you no of someone who hasn’t seen it yet, the movie is still at the Lindo until at least Thursday and possibly yet another week.

A cool stat- Outreach Films called a friend of mine letting him know that the Lindo sold the 7th most tickets to To Save a Life this weekend throughout the country.  I think that’s pretty cool.

We have another crazy awesome week planned for SWIFT this week too!

We have our annual Super Bowl party this Sunday! We want this to be just as much or if not more of a blast as To Save a Life.  Invite your friends to come on out. We’re asking guys to bring a drink and girls to bring a snack if you can.  We’re going to have the game up, on a big screen Wii, games, food, and fun. We also have some giveways, and a Ping Pong Tournament, with the winner receiving a “championship belt.” Come on out with your friends, it’s going to be a great time!

Here’s what we’re also doing this week-

Today- Forreston JH girls have a game starting at 4:00 PM today.  Come on out and support them!

Tuesday- Freeport JH girls have a game starting at 5:15 PM. Come on out and support them.

Wednesday- FCA at Forreston HS. We’re discussing To Save a Life.

Friday- HS Girls at Forreston have a game, it is senior night!

Saturday- HS Guys have a game at 6:00 PM.  Come on out to our place afterwards for Wii, games, and snacks.

Sunday- Sunday school at 9 AM
             Church service at 10 AM
Super Bowl party starts at 4:45 PM!

Other News…
Andrea and my last SWIFT is Sunday, Feb 14. Keep on praying for our church to find the most perfect awesome people to come in and lead SWIFT in the future.

Thanks guys! You’re awesome!

SWIFT Update: TO SAVE A LIFE

Hey everyone!

I hope you have a crazy awesome week this week! I know my week started off great last night at SWIFT. We had a blast trashing the youth room and learning about the need to empty our lives out and get rid of our “trash.” I hope that you took a look at your life today and took out a load of trash.

I am super pumped for To Save a Life this weekend! Invite your friends! We are attending the 4:10 PM show this Sunday.  If you need a ride, meet at the church at 3:00. We will hit the roads at 3:15 PM.  If you can drive and meet us at the Lindo at 3:45 PM, that would be awesome!

Find a sponsor, student leader, or myself before you enter the theatre to make sure you get a free ticket to see this movie.  Let your friends know to find us as well! If you get there by 3:45, you should have plenty of time to get your ticket, grab a seat, get snacks, and go to the bathroom before you see the movie!

For a preview, check out www.tosavealifemovie.com

If you can, plan on going to McDonald’s (the one across from Pizza Hut and Culvers on South) afterwards to get in some groups and discuss this movie.

SWIFT Update: 01-04-10

Hey everyone,

I hope you’re having a good day.

I am assuming that you have probably have heard the news…if you weren’t at SWIFT last night, and if you have not talked to a friend today at school, I announced last night that God called Andrea and I to a church near Milwaukee to start a student ministry in an area where many students have never heard about God’s love at all.  Andrea and I have always said that God may call His followers to take big risks and do some extreme things for Him, and we believe He called us to do this. We are sad because we hate to say goodbye to you and all the other students, staff, sponsors, and member of Silver Creek.  One student said last night that she thought of us like an older brother and sister, and I agree, we view so many of you as younger siblings that we love to share God’s heart with.

Andrea and I won’t move until after February 14. That gives us six weeks to still rock it and worship God together. We are hoping for some awesome six weeks with that. Throughout that time, we’d love to talk, chat, and encourage you through this time. It may be hard. I don’t know what’s going to happen, who’s going to lead SWIFT, and what the summer may hold. Those are questions we’re hoping to answer throughout the 6 weeks.  This is definitely a time to pray for SWIFT, pray for each other, and cling onto God as I know that through this, He can make SWIFT stronger than ever.

If you have any questions about it, please stop by and visit, give me a call, shoot me a facebook, or whatever. We’d love to talk you through this.

Tuesday- There is a girls game home at 6:00 PM in Forreston to cheer our girls on!

Wednesday- FCA at 6:45 AM at Forreston High School-Text me if you need a ride.

Thursday- There is a guys home game at 6:00 PM in Forrest to cheer our guys on!

Friday- Another Forreston girls game is happening at 6:00!

Sunday- Sunday School at 9 AM
             Worship Service at 10 AM
              JH SWIFT from 5:00-6:30 PM
              HS SWIFT from 7:00-8:30 PM
This week- We’re going to wrap up our “Through the Bible” series. Any questions that you may have about the whole series or anything, this is the week to ask!

Thanks guys! Much Love,

Tyler

Hey everyone!

I hope you had a very Merry Christmas!!! I had a blast catching up with family, sharing gifts, eating food, and celebrating the birth of Christ.  It was great.

It’s HERE! Christmas is here this week! It may be the GREATEST week of the year. Time for food, friends, family, presents, and MOST IMPORTANTLY- CHRIST! In fact, here’s a challenge for this week- don’t just experience Christmas- but let’s EXPERIENCE CHRIST. Don’t get me wrong- the other stuff is fine and good and fun, but CHRIST is better.  In fact, read the Christmas story in Luke 1-3, and then read the purpose of it all in Philippians 2. Check it out.

Christ came to earth as a servant to pay for our sins. Christ did it to LOVE US.  This love is amazing. This love is crazy. This love is AWESOME! Take some time to thank God for His AMAZING LOVE.

I hope you have a very Merry Christmas week! I thank God for each and every single one of you. All of you have been an unique blessing to Andrea, myself, and most importantly God in your own way.

Not a whole lot of news this week.  There is no SWIFT this week because of the Christmas season.

Parent Update 12:14:09

Dear Parents,

Can you believe that Christmas is getting nearer and nearer? My to-do list includes help finish up shopping, help lick envelopes to send out Christmas cards, and help ensuring that the Christmas program is good to go. The Christmas stress keeps on coming, but by the end of next week, we should all be enjoying a great time with our families!

Andrea and I took a weekend retreat to be with one another this past weekend, and  we feel refreshed after a weekend away in order to bring it on, but we did end up missing the Christmas party as a result (which was a bummer).  From what I’ve been told, it was a great time for all. We have some group pictures that we’re attaching to this email. But students came in ugly sweaters, great gifts were exchanged, and a fun time was had by all.

Because of Christmas, SWIFT is taking a couple of weeks off. We will meet again on January 3rd. We still have Winterzone coming up over New Years, and that is our next big event.  Make sure you check out www.swiftyouthministry.wordpress.com in order to check out the details for Winterzone.

Thank you parents for being so great! I am attaching the Real World Parent Newsletter for some encouragement to you. Thanks!
